Though in terms of binding they may not have an heirloom-caliber per se, the quality of these books is praiseworthy. These books definitely make a perfect gift idea. The Wordsworth Collector’s Edition Classics are phenomenal. Also, at the price point of only £6.99 for each book, I believe you are definitely getting more than what you pay for! Nevertheless, with careful use and proper shelving, I believe these books will endure time. In buying books I always consider the binding especially if I want my children to inherit them. The only downside that I would like to point out in this set is the binding. Character spacing varies per book but they are all nicely laid out. Texts are also printed large at around 10-point font, and the typefaces used are very readable. I like the highly opaque paper that does not glare under direct light. Readability-wise, these books offer a wonderful reading experience. With a trim page size of 178 x 129 mm, each book is very handy and easy to carry. What I love most about the Wordsworth Collector’s Edition Classics is that they are compact and lightweight. Texts and some intricate details on the cover have been stamped with gold foil which is absolutely stunning! On the back of each book, you’ll read short quotations taken from the respective novels that will thrill you to dig in. Beautifully reflecting what’s written inside, each showcases fancy and very attractive cover illustrations by Claire Shorrock. Each book is bound in a cloth-over-board cover and follows a complementing color scheme which makes the whole set look fabulous on the shelf.

These British Wordsworth Collector’s Editions are very affordable volumes (hence, glued bindings, so perhaps not a long-term investment). Newly released last month is another delightful collection of hardcovers to add to my long list of publishers of classic children’s literature and other classic novels.
